Goodbye Summer Break!

These are the only 2 pictures I took last week. If you know me at all, you know that that is CRAZY! Monday and Tuesday we stayed home, I worked on tshirt orders and spent time playing with my girls. Then Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday I worked in my classroom. I took the girls with me and they loved helping clean and playing with all my centers, but I still felt bad they were spending so much time there, so Friday, we left around 2 and I took the girls to the Splash pad for a couple of hours to make up for being cooped up in my classroom so much. They loved it.
Saturday morning, we went to Chuck's parents' pool and swam with Mary and Bailey! It was so much fun. The girls played and splashed, then cried when it was time to go. Payton had Uncle Chuck wrapped around her finger getting her snacks while we swam. Food is truly the way to that child's heart. (She gets it from her mama! Haha.)
Saturday evening, we went to Grecian to celebrate Granny's 82nd birthday! Then we went to her house for cake and presents. Payton and Jenna even sang Happy Birthday to Granny. It was precious.
Monday, we stayed home and I spent the entire day deep cleaning the house one last time before school starts. Tuesday, we went to El Patio and then to the movies to see Ice Age. We didn't like it quite as much as Secret Life of Pets, but it was still really cute.
Wednesday we went  to Chikfila and then Bounce with Us with Liz, Kaden, Levi, Mary, and Bailey. The kids had so much fun playing together.
Thursday I took the girls back to my classroom just to put a few finishing touches on it. I'm so excited with how it turned out! I can't wait for it to be filled with my 20 new "babies".
Friday night, Ryan and I dropped the girls off at Nonna and Granddaddy's and headed to Jackson for a rare date night! We had an amazing, delicious, fabulous dinner at Outback and finally used a gift card that I got for Christmas...haha. Then we went to couple stores to do some shopping, but didn't find anything, so we headed back to Ripley to pick up our little punkins! It was a great night! I love this goofy man, so!
Yesterday we had a faculty decorating day at school from 9-12, then I went and got some groceries. Once I got home we spent the rest of the day spending time together as a family. The girls painted their faces with their bath paint and thought it was so funny. I love them!
Today is the last day of Summer Break. We have had so much fun this summer and been on so many adventures. I have loved every minute with these 2 girls. I am a little sad to return to work tomorrow, but mainly because inservice weeks are just not any fun. Once I have a class full of kiddos, I will be thrilled. It also helps that these 2 are so excited about school starting back. I am glad to have 2 babies that love school. I hope they always do...

Another Week of Fun!

Monday we stayed home, and tried out a few of Rylee's birthday presents: her new sprinkler and her new slipNslide. The girls had an absolute blast!
Tuesday, I took the girls to Dyersburg and we had a delicious lunch at El Patio, then we went to the movie theatre to see The Secret Life of Pets. On Tuesdays, movie tickets are only $5 each and popcorn is only $2! And the movie was super cute. We loved it. When we got home, Rylee, Ryan, and I played Mario Party 10 on the Wii U while Payton cheered us on. It was such a good day!
Wednesday, we went swimming at Nonna and Granddaddy's pool with Liz, Kaden, and Levi. These kids are some serious water bugs. They would swim all day everyday if they could!
Thursday Rylee went over and spent the night with Kaden. I love how close these 2 are. They have been best friends since they were born. I hope they are always this close!
Friday morning we went swimming again, but it came to an abrupt end when my phone fell into the pool. Luckily I was able to save it by soaking it in alcohol then leaving it in rice to dry out, but it was definitely a close call! This morning, the girls and I went grocery shopping and got new tires put on my car. It was a sad day for my bank account, but a happy one for my car. Next we are going back to Nonna and Granddaddy's for more swimming fun this time with Daddy. There's nothing better than a cool pool in this summer heat!

Tomato Festival 2016

Last night we had a blast! We went to the Ripley Tomato Festival with some of our favorite people. It was so much fun!
...And on a side note, how cute are these tank tops I monogrammed for myself and the girls?!
Before the Festival, we went and had dinner at Kissell's Kitchen. It is one of our favorite places to eat. I could eat their BBQ everyday and not get sick of it! Of course after we left the restaurant, the 3 amigos wanted to ride together, so they rode in my car for the short drive from Kissell's to the park.
Once we got there, the real fun began! The kids got to pet some animals at the petting zoo, then go get their wristbands to begin riding rides.
They rode, and rode, and rode some more. They had so much fun! I love that they can make these memories together. Growing up with cousins is so much fun!
After it started getting dark, the kids played a game, got a prize, and I got me a funnel cake, then we headed home. It was a wonderful night!

Indpendence Day 2016

Our church had a special patriotic service last Sunday.  There was special music and all past and present servicemen and civil servants were honored. It was cool to see Paw Paw dressed up in his Air Force uniform and be recognized for his service. We love him so and are very proud!
Friday night our church had it's annual Independence Day celebration. There was a huge slip and slide going down a hill, kiddie pools, food, fellowship, and fireworks. It was so much fun.
They did a really good job with the fireworks. Ryan was helping with the show, but Payton was not happy about that. She is such a daddy's girl and threw a fit that he wasn't with her during the show. But Rylee really enjoyed it. She has been afraid of fireworks in years past, so I'm glad she loved them this year.
Saturday was a full day spent with family. We spent the morning and afternoon with my family. We had an early birthday party for my oldest niece, Brianna. We got to see Sarah, Ava, Landon, and of course Brianna and also spend time with Liz and Brandon and their boys and Mary and Chuck and Bailey.
After we left there, we headed straight to Nonna and Granddaddy's to swim and spend time with Mel, Austin, and Callie. I love it when they are in town! We ended the day by headed back to our house to play Mario Party together and Austin had a slumber party with Payton and Rylee. They were thrilled.
Sunday we went to church, then lunch, then headed back to Nonna and Granddaddy's for more swimming. Nonna spoiled these grandbabies with a "new toy" and they had an absolute blast!
Then we headed to Jackson for a Generals game. It was hot, but so much fun. The kids snacked, danced, and enjoyed the game.
After the game there was an amazing fireworks show. It was so gorgeous. All of the kids (and adults) really enjoyed it.
This morning we all slept in. Mel, Austin, and Callie headed back to Georgia :(. It's been raining off and on, so we got the house straightened up, then Rylee and Ryan played Zelda on her Wii U, and we've just had a relaxing day. If the rain holds off, we will shoot a few fireworks of our own tonight, but if it doesn't, it'll be okay. It has been such a fun-filled weekend. I am thoroughly content. Happy Independence Day, y'all!
